Wekiva Marching Band going to the Sugar Bowl Parade

In 2026, the Wekiva High School Marching Band will participate in the Allstate Sugar Bowl festivities, including a Mardi Gras-style parade with floats, bands, and a football game.
The closure is due to the projected impacts of the hurricane in Orange County, and some schools will be used as shelters. We will continue to update you as we receive additional information. School opening Friday will be determined based on the impact of the storm.
The Kelly Park School and three others in the Apopka area received "A" grades from the Florida Department of Education.
Orange County Public Schools earns an “A”
Three Apopka schools (Kelly Park, Wolf Lake Elementary, and Wolf Lake Middle) received "A" grades, as did Zellwood Elementary. Apopka High School received a "B" grade, while Wekiva High received a "C".
